Two Stories on Digg Front Page simultaneously

A rare occasion for me, two stories hitting fp in hours of each other and both seen on fp at the same time.

230 diggs yet no Front Page

I am totally disappointed with digg algo after the story - 24 Digital Spy Tools To Capture, Protect, And Secure Data - could not make it to front page even after getting 230 diggs, 110 non friends, 48 comments and 2 buries as reported by Ajaxonomy BuryRecorder. What is more disappointing is that even after 2 ½ hours, there is only 1 story on digg front page that has more diggs than this story. This was the 3rd consecutive story that failed to hit the front page. The current Digg algo somehow seems to be more partial towards new users and low activity users.

What Does Google Know About Us? - hits the fp.

This one story - What Does Google Know About Us? - troubled me from the very start. First - when i submitted the story to digg, i was presented with a blank page, no error or no story confirmation, so i refreshed the page 3-4 times and gosh the story was submitted like 5 times, this totally spoiled my Popular Ratio. I immediately submitted a bug report to digg. The digg team was king enough to remove the duplicate stories and restore my Popular Ratio.
Initially I did not promote the story to any of my friends and it got 50 diggs even before I began to shout at my friends, I thought this one would be a quicky, how wrong was I? The - What Does Google Know About Us? - story hit the front page after an agonising period of over 23 hours, 265 total diggs, 155 diggs friends, 50 comments, 0 buries and at-least 10 friends confirming they had add the story to their favorites. This was clearly the slowest to hit the front page.

Digg has been buggy since 1st April

Digg has been extremely buggy since 1st April, everybody seems to reason that digg teams April Fool joke has turned back on them. Particularly bad is the the page reload error that keeps popping while digging, shouting, commenting, etc.
